Moving Mountains Kenya
Our sister charity, Moving Mountains Kenya, is a non-profit NGO which aims to alleviate a number of social, economic and health-related challenges in East Africa.
Working together with local committess, authorities and experts, areas of need are identified and projects are developed. Long-term aims, structured funding plans, impact assessments and exit strategies are all key strategies of Moving Mountains Kenya under the guidance of the Moving Mountains Trust.
Programmes in Kenya include:
Educational and vocational support including early learning centres and teacher funding.
Get involved in our personal development and rehabilitation programmes for young people and their families, including long term mentoring.
Social welfare support, including rescue centres in slum areas and children's homes for some of the most vulnerable children.
Maintenance of clinics, provision of healthcare facilities and medical care for the sick and elderly.
Grants and bursaries for social enterprises and small business mentoring and money management advice for families.
The relationship between Adventure Alternative Kenya and Moving Mountains Kenya:
Community projects are determined and managed entirely by Moving Mountains Kenya as an independent NGO. This is to ensure that all programmes are relevant and appropriate.
As a travel company, Adventure Alternative Kenya can assist when individuals or groups ask to visit or volunteer at the projects. We then handle all travel logistics such as transportation, accommodation, staff and food.
